Gerald (Gerry) S A Perez, Ph.D. – Senior Consultant

Gerry is a senior consultant of Allied Business and is a seasoned executive with wide senior level corporate, government, and NGO experience. He has done business in, and traveled extensively, throughout Micronesia, American Samoa, French Polynesia, Oceania, and Asia. Presently, he is the Vice-President of Micromed Suppliers, a small medical equipment and surgical supply company he founded more than 20 years ago. Furthermore, he is the immediate past president of Skal International Asia, which is the largest association of tourism professionals (2008-2013). Gerry was also the Board Chairman for the Guam Chamber of Commerce (2013) and is currently the President of the Micronesia Cruise Association since 2012. Holds BS (forestry) and MS (wildlife management) degrees from the University of Idaho and attended the East West Center Technology and Development Institute at University of Hawaii where the comparative economic development models of the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, and Micronesia were studied. Currently an Adjunct Professor at University of Guam, School of Business and Public Administration. Courses taught include entrepreneurship, marketing, organizational management, and consumer behavior.

 
 

Karri T. Perez, Ph.D., PMP, GPHR, SPHR – Senior Consultant

Dr. Perez is a senior consultant of Allied Business. She has facilitated more than half a billion dollars’ worth of U.S. military projects for clients including Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Army and provides training and consulting services for key clients.

Her PhD is in Human and Organizational systems and she has international work experience in Asia as well as the Pacific Rim area in various key positions in international corporations. She is a published author on leadership and a professor of business at University of Guam. She co-developed the project management class at Guam Community College and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). She also holds the Global Professional Human Resources and Senior Professional Human Resources designations from Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM).

 
 

Meredith Sayre – Senior Consultant

Meredith Sayre began her career in the legal profession with a practice emphasis on labor and employment law. She worked with clients in a broad range of industries including hotels, retail, restaurants, IT, medical arts and financial institutions. She is available for consultation on wage and hour compliance issues, Equal Employment Opportunity compliance matters based on protected class, including ethnicity, gender, age, disability, and religion. Meredith also assists clients with terminations, reductions in the work force, handbook and other policy drafting including the implementation and enforcement of substance abuse policies. Meredith is available to conduct trainings and other services related to employment laws and best practices. Meredith is a past president of SHRM Guam Chapter, and a past president of Guam Girl Scouts Inc. She is currently an adjunct professor at the University of Guam, teaching Managing the Employee and the Work Environment.Guam has been home for over 30 years.

 
 

Richard S. Colfax, Ph.D., GPHR, HRMP, PHR, CM – Senior Consultant

Dr. Richard S. Colfax has more than 30 years of international business experience in the Pacific-Asia Region, including Japan, Guam, and Micronesia. A fluent speaker of Japanese, he works, consults, trains and instructs in multi-cultural environments. He is a seasoned team building and organizational systems trainer. His professional qualifications include MBTI, EQ-i and Crisis Preparation facilitator and trainer.

He holds an advanced degree (Ph.D.) in human and organizational systems as well as multiple US and International HR/management certifications including the Global Professional in HR (GPHR), the international Human Resource Management Professional (HRMP), Professional in HR (PHR), and Certified Manager (CM).

Rich is the senior Trainer and Operations Manager of Colfax, Inc. providing international HR/business consulting services, facilitation and mediation services, and develops and delivers international HR systems for both private and private entities. Rich is also the Professor of HRM at the University of Guam (UOG).

 
 

John Rivera, Ph.D., HRMP, PHR, CM – Senior Consultant

John J. Rivera, an INTJ, is an executive coach, consultant and professor with more than 15 years of diverse professional and academic experience.

John's expertise and forte is in leadership development and strategic capacity building through human capital innovation. He has a solid track record of proven success and a strong portfolio of professional credentials to back. His skill sets are complemented by an array of the most prominent developmental assessments in the market today. He is one of only a few hundred MBTI™ (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator) Certified Master Practitioners, with competency in all Levels—Steps I, II, & III. Of those certified to use the Step III instrument, he is in a class of about a hundred people worldwide. He is Guam's first and only MBTI™ Master Practitioner, Certified Step III Practitioner, EMP™ Founding Practitioner, and was among the first EQ-i certified practitioners in the region. Austin Terlaje – Associate Consultant

Austin is one of the newest additions to the team and his impact has been immediately felt. He is a driven professional who takes on challenging and complex projects, establishes needed programs, improves processes, and delivers satisfactory results. Austin possesses practical knowledge in general administration with an extensive background in training and organizational program development. He has worked with diverse groups in both public and private sectors, and is best known for his strong communication skills, training capacity, and delivering excellent service

In partnership with government and private sector entities, he conducts multiple trainings focusing on organizational wellness: Stress Management, Suicide Pre/Inter/Postvention, team building, and several more. He is also trained in mediation and has experience mediating a variety of cases from small claims to business management disputes. In addition, to his training capacity, he has experience in several human resource functions: recruitment and selection; compensation and benefits, as well as employee relations.

Austin is a graduate of the University of Guam, with a degree in Business Administration concentrating in Behavioral Strategy & Innovation and is currently in pursuit of an MBA. He is an active member of the community, serving on several, government and private, boards and committees.
